2014 marks the twenty fifth year anniversary of Seinfeld’s Premier onto network television. Seinfeld was one of the best comedies of the nineties, it is still considered to be one of the most popular comedies twenty five years later. It’s influence has effected generations of people now, the latest people to be effected by the show is a local hockey team in Bakersfield. The Bakersfield Condor’s is using the puffy shift from one of Seinfeld’s greatest episodes in order to raise charity.
Seinfeld re-invested how people enjoy sitcom’s. It used to be that something would always have to be happening, some plot that would take people through emotional turmoil’s that would be mixed in with comedy. Jerry Seinfeld wanted to create a sitcom which would have four people live their daily lives and the viewers could watch them as they go along for their journey in the big apples.
What the Bakersfield Condors plan to do is play a game against some opponent with the puffy white t-shirts on. People will be able to see the local team play their game with many of references in the show being used on the ice such as the “Magic Loogie”. Every person who purchases a ticket to this local game will have their proceeds used towards a charity of choice by the Bakersfield Condors.
Each player on the team will have a different name on their back, the name of their back representing one of the famous characters from the show. You will see Seinfeld, Kramer, Bennies, Costanza and many more on the back of these players jerseys.
